Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP
Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Doctors Company and TDC Group. He is also a Director of The Doctors Company Foundation. Dr. Anderson was a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, and is Past Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Scripps Memorial Hospital, where he served as Senior Oncologist for 18 years.
Dr. Anderson is the editor of a book, Medical Malpractice: A Physician’s Sourcebook, and the author of a number of peer-reviewed publications on medical malpractice, the Harvard Medical Practice Study, and the impact of defensive medicine.
He has been invited to address numerous medical and legal forums, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons®, a number of medical school faculties, including the medical centers of Stanford, UCLA, UCSD, Case Western, and the Cleveland Clinic, and the law schools of Columbia, Stanford, and Northwestern.
Industry presentations include the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the former Physician Insurers Association of America (PIAA), which is now MPL Association, the Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS), Lloyd’s of London, Crittenden, the American Association of Health Plans, and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
Dr. Anderson currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice and several committees within the MPL Association. He serves as an honorary faculty member for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). He also serves as a member of the Board for the Napa Valley Community Foundation and as a member of the Board of Directors for the OLE Health Foundation.
Dr. Anderson is the former Chair of the MPL Association and served on its Board for 10 years. He is a recipient of the Peter Sweetland Award of Excellence for his contributions to the MPL Association, the insurance community, and the healthcare professions.
He is also the first recipient of the PLUS Foundation’s Award for Outstanding Leadership in Healthcare Professional Liability.
After graduating from Stanford Medical School, Dr. Anderson completed his internship and residency at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Hospital, followed by his postdoctoral fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford. He received his bachelor of arts degree magna cum laude from Yale College.

Deepika Srivastava, MBA, PMP
Deepika Srivastava is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Doctors Company and TDC Group Shared Services. Prior to her role as COO, Ms. Srivastava was Executive Vice President of MPL and TDC Group Shared Services, where she had the responsibility of running the operations of the medical professional liability (MPL) line of business. She leads the group shared services of Technology, Cybersecurity, Innovation, and Enterprise Project Office for all TDC Group business units. She began her career at The Doctors Company as a Business Systems Analyst with AP Capital and progressed into leading information technology (IT) as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer.
Ms. Srivastava is a seasoned executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. At The Doctors Company, she has earned a reputation for driving operational excellence and aligning business strategy with modern solutions. Her leadership in transforming the company’s operations and enhancing efficiency has positioned it for sustainable growth. Known for her strategic vision and focus on continuous improvement, Ms. Srivastava has envisioned a digitally agile business and championed the transformation and modernization of the business technology portfolio.
Previously, Ms. Srivastava spearheaded The Doctors Company’s award-winning technology framework for post–mergers and acquisitions technology consolidation. This framework created business efficiencies and economies of scale, eliminated cybersecurity risks, reduced expenses, and increased management insight through consolidated reporting. The framework was awarded the Novarica Impact Award for IT Practice.
Ms. Srivastava holds a master of business administration (MBA) degree and a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Lucknow, India. She completed the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program from Stanford University and the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). In 2024, she was named a Business Insurance Women to Watch honoree. Ms. Srivastava is passionate about mentoring emerging women leaders and serves on the advisory board of Michigan State University’s Actuarial Science Program. She serves on the California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA) Board of Governors.

Laura Kline, MBA, CPCU, CIC
Laura Kline is Regional Operating Officer, Region II, The Doctors Company, and Senior Vice President, Business Development, TDC Group.
In her role, Ms. Kline drives operational excellence across the 26 states of Region II and leads teams including Business Development, Underwriting, Claims, and Patient Safety and Risk Management in enhancing member experiences. Ms. Kline leads business development, sales, distribution, agency management, and affinity programs for TDC Group.
She joined the company in 2011 following the acquisition of American Physicians Assurance. Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Kline served as Vice President of Marketing and President of that company’s alternative risk transfer subsidiary. She has considerable expertise in the areas of healthcare and medical malpractice insurance. Ms. Kline holds a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan, and has completed the Executive Scholars Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with an emphasis in sales and marketing. Ms. Kline has earned the professional designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). She is based in The Doctors Company’s corporate headquarters in Napa, California.
