Top Advanced Practice Clinicians Gather to Discuss the Future of Healthcare

Napa, California—December 2, 2022—Recognizing the growing impact of advanced practice clinicians (APCs) in providing access to healthcare, TDC Group gathered its APC Advisory Board on December 2, 2022, in Napa, California. Board members met to share their insights on issues affecting nurse practitioners (NPs), certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), certified nurse midwives (CNMs), certified midwives (CMs), and physician assistants (PAs).

TDC Group predicted in its whitepaper What U.S. Healthcare Will Look Like in 2032 that APCs will become the primary care providers for many Americans, reserving physicians for complex cases. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the overall employment of CRNAs, CNMs, and NPs is projected to grow 40 percent from 2021 to 2031—much faster than the average for all occupations.

About 30,200 openings for CRNAs, CNMs, and NPs are projected each year, on average, over the next decade.

TDC Group was proud to host the following APC Advisory Board team members, including: Jason Astrin, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, DFAAPA; Ginger Biesbrock, DSc, PA-C, MPH, MPAS, FACC; Ginger Breedlove, PhD, CNM, FACNM, FAAN; Doreen Cassarino, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, FAANP, FNAP; Pamela J. Chambers, DNP, EJD, MSN, CRNA; Patricia Anaya Gurney, MSN, PPCNP-BC; Bridget O. Howard, CNM, MSN; and Christopher Reed, MBA, MPH, MSN, CRNA.

“APCs have been integral to healthcare delivery and will grow increasingly as the demand for patient care increases. The integration of APCs into healthcare systems improves access to care, particularly for underserved populations,” said Laura Kline, MBA, CPCU, CIC, Senior Vice President, Business Development, TDC Group. “Insights from this esteemed group of APCs will assist us in helping our members and clients navigate this change in healthcare delivery with confidence.”
